It's been 65 years—and we wouldn't be here without you.
As we celebrate our 65th year, the editors and staff here at the Massachusetts Review are gearing up to turn a new page: In December we will say goodbye to Jim Hicks, who has led the magazine for the past fifteen years. And we’ll welcome Britt Rusert, our new Executive Editor!
Jim as instrumental in guiding MR into the twenty-first century, while ensuring we kept its legacy alive. Under his leadership, MR increased its publication of work in translation (including the establishment of the Chametzky Prize for translation); we widened our publishing efforts to include a thriving blog presence and our Working Titles e-books; and we expanded the masthead to reflect the diversity of voices represented in our pages. With our senior editors, Britt will continue and expand the tradition that began 65 years ago: publishing new writers alongside Nobel Prize-winners and preeminent public voices, a diverse array of artists who break new ground at the boundaries of where art and current affairs meet. This year, we invite you to join us in celebrating 65 incredible years— and to help Britt write our new chapter—by securing the future of MR for the next six decades.
Pllease consider a gift in honor of this landmark year, and thank you
